ABOUT ME

Khari Marquette with saxophone

I am a professional musician from Atlanta, GA. I graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta with a Bachelor’s of Music in piano performance in 2024, under the study of Dr. Geoffrey Haydon. I have been playing piano for 21 years and also play saxophone, organ, and any other instrument I get my hands on. Some of the biggest achievements in my formative years included receiving a resolution from the City of Birmingham and being featured on the front page of the Birmingham News in 2010 in a large article for Father’s Day. My time is equally spent between Atlanta and Birmingham and I have worked in the music ministry at various churches in Birmingham and Atlanta for many Christian denominations. I am currently the Minister of Music at a local Birmingham church, performing at weekly services.

My goal with the students I teach is to equip them with the skills and gifts necessary for them to be great, professional performers of music and bring joy and peace to many hearts and souls that witness their gifts for all to hear! From me, they will learn the basics of playing, up to advanced topics such as theory and aural skills. In addition, they will also learn how to play music in several styles, from classical to jazz, Latin, and pop!

All of my musical works and performances are on YouTube for all to enjoy! Let’s make music together!
